I was prescribed Olmetec 20mg for high blood pressure almost 3 weeks ago. About a week into it I woke up with severe lower back pain, which lasted for 8 days before I finally got around to seeing the doctor, since I assumed that it was just spasms or something. By the 8th day, the pain had migrated to the right side of my back and the front of my right hip, which made me worry about kidney problems. When I saw my doctor he immediately gave me a urine test and found a small amount of blood in it. I had a bunch of blood tests done that day and everything came back perfectly normal; creatine, potassium, sodium, bilirubin, glucose, LDL, you name it. I have been off of Olmetec for 3 days right now and the pain still persists but it does seem to be slightly better. I hope it goes away soon. The only positive thing I can say is that it did lower my average systolic BP reading by about 20mm/hg.
