Re: Hirudoid Side Effects

I was initially prescribed Rectogesic by a doctor for pregnancy haemorrhoids. Before using it I read the precautions and is said do not use if anaemic or pregnant - of which I am both. So I returned it to my pharmacy and asked for something suitable to use in pregnancy and was given Hirudoid. On the instructions it stated there were no precautions and it was perfectly safe. I applied it topically as per instructions and felt some burning as some got on my vagina. Some hours later, I started bleeding from my haemorroid which had not been bleeding previously. I went online and found out it "should not be used near the ano-genital area."
