I have just started taking this Lendormin for irregular insomnia.
Previously, I had been prescribed Zolpidem (known as "myslee," here in Japan. However rapid tolerance occured with this. The usual dose is 10mg but this had 0% effect. I took 50mg which worked to some degree. (after one year of prescription).
My doctor changed to Lendormin. I didn't expect it to work as it shares some similarities with zolpidem.
However it's very effective (so far) with no residual or other negative effects.
I also take Klonpin during the day time, which is yet another benzodiazipine, so my tolerance has steadily increased over a period of 4 years.
Surprisingly, I seem to have no noticable tolerance to Lendormin, although theroretically there is cross tolerance.
All I can say is so far so good, and live a normal working live, and have good relationship with my wife of over seven years.
I would assume this is the exception rather than the rule. Or, I have misunderstood the mechanism of action and there is no cross tolerance build up?
I will probably continue taking klonpin for the forseeable future as it has no negative side effects and improves quality of life.
Of course I am aware of tolerance and dependancy, but I can't imagine taking these three medications in an addictive/recreational way as they only do what they are meant to do.
I am even able to drink the occaisional beer with a good curry or Chinese dinner without any negative effects that I, my wife, friends and colleagues have noticed.
I am not at all embarrassed about using these meds, so most people I know well are aware of this, but I have recieved, nor percieved any negativity from them. It's almost a non issue.
I have read so many horror stories online, but now take the view that this is greatly exaggerated, or these people are not telling the whole story.
Of course, I may be wrong about that. I can only speak for my own long term experiences with this catagory or med.
Best wishes,
